Job description
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Coordinator, the building technician in charge of preventive maintenance will be responsible for monitoring the condition of all the school board's infrastructure. In order to maintain the school facilities in good condition, you will be required to carry out regular building inspections. In addition, as the main user of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tool, you will be responsible for leading the deployment, structuring the software and training new users of the software.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Act as the contact person for the maintenance management software;
- Handle data entry pertaining to equipment and perform updates;
- Ensure application of the preventive maintenance program;
- Make sure building plans are updated;
- Visit building sites;
- Comment on plans and specifications provided by outside firms;
- Train less experienced technicians and coordinate the work of support staff regarding the implementation of technical operations programs for which he or she is responsible;
- Develop performance indicators in cooperation with their supervisor and prepare the required reports;
- Train the team on inputting all required information in the software’s database.
Qualifications
- Diploma of College Studies (DSC) in Building Systems Technology or recognized equivalent diploma;
- Minimum of one-year experience in building mechanics;
- Experience in preventive maintenance using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system);
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Obtain a passing grade on a basic Excel test;
- Very good knowledge of French or English (spoken and written) and sufficient knowledge of the second language (French or English);
- Knowledge of Autocad drawing software is considered an asset
- Hold the ASP Health and Safety on Construction Sites card;
- Hold a valid driver’s licence (Class 5).
