Reporting to the Director, the Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing the feasibility and structural analysis of projects, in collaboration with different teams, from the permit application phase, to the 3D realization of the company's system.


Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Addition of structural elements in the Autodesk REVIT file provided by the company (columns, beams, braces, foundation beams and piles for structural details);
  • Perform detailed structural analysis calculations, using ROBOT software, and update structural plans, in order to design single-family homes using a patented construction system, while respecting North American standards. American (Canada and United States);
  • Prepare structural analysis reports, including calculations and LRFD / LSD structural analysis according to local site requirements;
  • Provide foundation engineers with the anchoring plan and associated loads, and coordinate with the engineer in charge of the project;
  • Prepare the submission file for obtaining permits;
  • Respond to verification comments on the city's plans, and produce a new submission file if necessary;
  • Participate in project meetings aimed at establishing concept considerations, client requirements, and general coordination;
  • Preliminary annotations and structural validation of the conceptual design;
  • Supervision of certain stages of construction, management of information requests and site inspections;
  • Coordinate with the 3D modeling team for the production of manufacturing drawings;
  • Collaborate with architects, the 3D modeling team and project managers to ensure the success of the project.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering (structural engineering profile) from an accredited college or university;
  • Min 3 years of experience in structural engineering;
  • Experience in the design of residential structures, using North American Specifications for the design of cold-formed steel structural members CSA S136 / AISI S100;
  • Strong manual calculation skills, as well as the use of computer-aided design software that is necessary for the required engineering tasks (Excel, MathCad, etc.);
  • Mastery of Autodesk ROBOT and REVIT software;
  • Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written.
  • Experience in foundation design and seismic studies considered an asset;
  • Professional engineering license (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and/or other provinces and states) considered an asset
