Job description

Reporting to the Senior HSE Director, the HSE Advisor is responsible for the development and promotion of company policies and programs in the areas of environment, health and safety for the branches in Quebec and the Maritimes.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on safe work practices and HSE regulatory requirements.

• Coach employees by making visits to the various branches.

• Monthly monitoring of proactive indicators for assigned branches.

• Collaborate in the development of HSE programs.

• Follow up on incidents and support the branches in their investigations and analyses.

• Collaborate with the claims specialist for CNESST and WCB files.

• Provide HSE leadership by providing appropriate training.

• Support the development of training materials for the LMS.

• Work in collaboration with other members of the HSE team in Canada.

• Keep abreast of developments in the field of health and safety.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene

• Min. 2 years of work experience in a related field.

• Skills in EHS regulations and standards

• Mastery of Microsoft Office and VelocityEHS

• Experience in training and facilitating meetings

• Experience in heavy industry is an asset.

• Possess excellent communication skills and establish good interpersonal relationships at all levels.

• Bilingualism (French and English spoken and written) is an important asset

• Valid driver's license

• Be available to travel on a regular basis to the Laval and Chambly branches.

Work conditions

• Salary between $65,000 to $90,000 depending on experience
