Our client is a growing civil engineering company that offers sewer infrastructure solutions on small to large and complex projects. The clientele extends throughout Eastern Canada and consists of cities, municipalities, construction contractors, industries, businesses and individuals. We are currently looking for a Director of Operations to fill an important position within the organization.

Relève du Président, le Directeur(rice) des opérations dirige et coordonne les opérations et les activités en vue d'atteindre les objectifs fixés. Il assume des responsabilités en matière de gestion des ressources opérationnelles, financières et humaines.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Direct all operations and monitor operational performance;

• Follow up on calls for tenders and projects to be tendered;

• Produce bids by working in collaboration with the department's project managers;

• Work closely with management, as well as human resources in various strategic files.

• Maintain and develop new partnerships with different suppliers;

• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers and customers;

• Support the entire team during important issues to be resolved or when the workload requires it;

• Perform other related duties.

Qualifications

• College or University degree in civil engineering or any other training  relevant

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an engineering or project manager or management position, in the water and sewer or civil engineering sector

• Work experience in a growing SME context

• Excellent command of the French language both orally and in writing

• Good command of the English language

• Good knowledge of the MS Office suite • Strategic vision and innovative spirit

• Leadership focused on development and achieving results

• Superior communication, persuasion and negotiation skills

• Analytical mind and ability to develop and implement continuous improvement measures in a context of growth

• Maturity, professionalism and ability to deal at all hierarchical levels

• Developed team spirit and collaboration

Work conditions

• Permanent position, full time

• Salary between $105,000 to $140,000 depending on experience
