Job description

Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resource Director will have the overall responsibility to develop and implement processes and HR programs, plan, lead and enforce recruitment & employee relations, operational issues/strategic planning, workers compensation support and special HR projects. 

Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement processes and programs designed to maximize employee productivity, performance, engagement, and close skill and knowledge gaps 
  • Develop and integrate competency-based approach to talent development, progress review and acquisition programs 
  • Oversee the existing benefit, compensation and executive compensation strategy and programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and balancing market conditions, internal equity and long-term vision 
  • Assess market trends and best practices to continuously improve and innovate total rewards programs that encourage employee engagement 
  • Actively identify gaps, propose and implement changes necessary to cover risks. 
  • Build policies and best practices for Human Resources programs and services, conducting research, gathering information and expertise from relevant sources, and providing comprehensive reports and recommendations consistent with the mandate and objectives of the HR Strategy 
  • Provide actionable market insights on recognition programs including performance review process and pay equity compliance and administration 
  • Manage administration and communication of benefits programs, policies, and procedures including GRRSP, STD & LTD, group benefits, EAP etc., and liaise with group benefit carriers to resolve employee concerns 
  • Track and measure the usage and effectiveness of the various programs 

Qualifications

  • Completion of post secondary education (College or University) specializing in Human Resource Management or Business Administration with a Human Resources concentration 
  • CHRP designation or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on building and executing strategic HR programs aligned with business strategy
  • Skilled in change and project management
  • Experience building pay equity reviews and reporting
  • Hands on experience with the implementation and management of HR systems preferably Dayforce
  • Bilingualism (French & English), an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant labour codes and labour law requirements in Quebec
